Please read and share this memo from the Roy Blunt for U.S. Senate campaign regarding the Kansas City Star’s article on campaign ads. This info will help you if you are asked about Roy’s campaign and any of the ridiculous charges made by his opponent, Jason Kander. It’s obvious Kander can’t run an issues-centric campaign, because he would lose, so he has resorted to telling outright lies about Roy. Please share this on social media and feel free to copy & paste this text into emails you send to your friends and contacts.

RE: Jason Kander: the “Truth Exposed”
The truth was finally exposed today in the Kansas City Star. In its review of all of the ads that are on TV these days, the Star acknowledged that Jason Kander has been lying about Roy, writing, “Pay for House and Senate members has been frozen…during Blunt’s entire service in the Senate.”
The Star also pointed out that Kander’s wife Diana “has been involved in talking with government officials on behalf of clients, an activity that is reasonably construed as lobbying.” That’s certainly more than “an aspirational biography,” as Kander’s campaign had called it.
Jason Kander also suggests he cares about your 2nd Amendment rights, yet he repeatedly voted against those rights as a state legislator, earning himself an F rating from the NRA. Jason was even bold enough to say he supports a government ban on gun sales for anyone (without due process) who happens to find themselves on a government list.
Here is the excerpt from the Kansas City Star article published today:
“Federal law already requires background checks for gun purchases at gun stores. Kander is referring to something else — a ban on gun sales to anyone on the federal terror watch list…such a ban would not prevent all terrorists from getting their hands on such weapons. The world is awash in weaponry, easily obtained overseas.”
Roy takes great pride in being the first non-attorney to serve in the United States Senate in recent history. Kander, on the other hand, is a trial attorney, relying on his vast network of trial attorney friends to fund his campaign, “Kander has taken more than $1.3 million in campaign contributions from lawyers and law firms. That’s the most money by far from any sector supporting Kander.”
The Star goes on to point out Kander’s support of raising utility costs by supporting Cap and Trade legislation and his support of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
While Kander lies about him, Roy has kept his focus on the issues impacting the lives of fellow Missourians. From over regulation that is threating jobs to infringements on our rights guaranteed in the Constitution, Roy stands up against liberals like Jason Kander and for Missouri. Jason Kander lies about Roy because he can’t tell the truth about his record on issues.
Election day is near, and we must do everything we can in these final days to ensure Missouri sends Roy back to the Senate to fight for common sense Missouri values. Share this memo with friends and family – the media finally saw these lies for what they are; let’s make sure everyone else does too!

I can’t even believe I am having to touch base on this topic again less than a week later, but you guessed it: Jason Kander is STILL at it.
Now the Kander Campaign is claiming that Roy flies around on corporate jets. That’s illegal. Senators cannot fly on corporate jets. Roy would be in big trouble if he were doing what the Kander campaign is spending big bucks to lie to you about.
The lies continue because Jason Kander and his allies (Joe Biden came to Missouri on Friday) know that if they talk about where he is on the issues he will LOSE BIG. So their political calculation is that they will lie about Roy and hope no one calls them out on it.
We all know the press won’t correct them, but we have YOU. Please make sure your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and family all know the truth, and remind them that Kander lies because he is a blank check for Hillary Clinton’s policies on Obamacare, amnesty for illegal immigrants, liberal judges, and a national energy tax. He lies because he is wrong on the issues.

Less than 24 hours after informing you on Jason Kander’s series of false and misleading claims against Roy, Jason Kander’s campaign has levied one of the dumbest attacks in Missouri political history. In a desperate attempt to fool Missourians, Jason Kander’s latest television ad claims Roy Blunt doesn’t live in Missouri..??? Jason Kander has demonstrated, time and time again, that he doesn’t understand his responsibilities as Secretary of State, but this latest claim will have our fellow Missourians scratching their heads. See, it is actually the responsibility of Secretary of State to certify candidates for the ballot. In certifying Roy for the ballot, Jason Kander confirmed Roy lives in Missouri.
Jason Kander and his liberal supporters (Clinton, Reid and Pelosi ) think it is OK to continuously mislead and lie to the American public for political gain. Together, they will work to expand Obamacare, grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, and double your utility bills through the implementation of a new national energy tax. Jason Kander lacks a fundamental understanding of Missouri values. Thankfully, Roy’s values are Missouri values and with your hard work, Roy will continue the fight to make sure our values are represented in the United States Senate.

As we approach the final three weeks of this campaign, it is critical that each of us leave nothing to chance. We should assume each person we come in contact with is an undecided voter. The balance of the Senate could very well come down to what happens
right here in Missouri. If we all do our part, we can maintain Republican control of the Senate. If we win the White House, a Republican Senate can help move America in a new direction. If, God forbid, Hillary Clinton wins the national election, a Republican Senate will be a critical check to stop her from doing even more damage to our country.
Roy Blunt has run a campaign focused on the issues. The same cannot be said for Jason Kander. There is a lot of misinformation being disseminated by the Kander campaign and his liberal special interest allies in Washington, D.C. Here are the facts:
- Jason Kander’s campaign is based on a dumbed-down set of lies designed to mislead Missourians and prevent a full discussion of his extreme liberal voting record, a voting record that is out of step with the views and values of Missourians.
- One of the Kander campaign’s most blatant deceptions is his claim that Roy Blunt should not be re-elected to the Senate because he has voted to raise his own pay 12 times. This is simply not true. As your United States Senator, Roy Blunt has never voted for or accepted a pay increase. As was reported this week, since Roy Blunt was elected to the United States Senate, Senators’ pay has not changed.
- Another recent lie of Jason Kander’s is that Roy Blunt spends the weekends at luxury beach resorts paid for by lobbyists. Well, those of us who know Roy know this could not be farther from the truth. Lobbyists cannot pay for such travel. It is against the law. Since being elected to the Senate, Roy has appeared at more than 1,600 events in Missouri. He works hard to serve his constituents well. In fact, the Kander campaign has not only accused Roy of something he would never do, they have accused him of something that, if true, would be a crime. Their assertions are shameless.
- Not only has Jason Kander decided to ignore the issues, he is viciously attacking Roy Blunt’s family. His campaign is designed to insinuate that each member of Roy Blunt’s family is a lobbyist walking the halls of Congress. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
a. Abby Blunt is an employee of the Kraft Heinz Company, like 2,000 other Missourians. Her role is to work with public officials globally on behalf of Kraft Heinz, and she has voluntarily adopted a practice of not discussing legislation related to Kraft Heinz with Roy or any other member of the United States Senate.
b. Matt Blunt, Missouri’s 54th governor, leads the American Automobile Policy Council, which is a group founded by Chrysler, Ford and GM. Most of Governor Blunt’s work is focused on making sure that American-made cars and trucks and the people who make them have access to foreign markets for their products. The U.S. exports more cars and parts than any other product, and that means thousands of jobs for Missourians.
c. Amy Blunt is a lawyer in Missouri and has one client that she represents in Jefferson City. Andy Blunt is also a lawyer in Missouri with his own firm in Jefferson City, which has multiple clients. Neither of them lobby the U.S. government or Congress.
Please feel free to share these facts with our hundreds of volunteers working every day and our thousands of supporters that we are interacting with so they can spread the truth.
Liberal special interest groups are spending millions to mislead Missourians about Roy Blunt. Our job is to remind Missourians that Jason Kander is too liberal for Missouri. He will support every element of Hillary Clinton’s agenda. Together, they want to expand Obamacare, grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, and double your utility bills through the implementation of a new national energy tax. If Hillary Clinton and Jason Kander are both elected, he’ll rubber stamp her extreme and liberal nominees to the Supreme Court. Kander would merely be one of the reinforcements for the extreme liberals who have driven America off course.
Keep up the good work!
