Optional Political Party Affiliation

When you register to vote or update your name or address on your voter registration, you will now have the ability to choose a political party affiliation. Voters can choose to affiliate as Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, or Unaffiliated. This is an optional field and does not affect your ability to vote or select a particular party ballot during primary elections. You will also have the option to update your affiliation at the polling place beginning with the April 2023 election. This change is part of a new state law, House Bill 1878, which passed in 2022.
